Biography:
Connie Rivera has been teaching adults since 2001. She is an experienced teacher of GED Preparation and Adult Basic Education classes. Additionally, she has taught Science and Mathematics classes for a Credit Diploma Program. Recently she has begun providing professional development to other math teachers of adults.
Connie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and Special Education Teacher Certification from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1996. In 2000, she earned a Master's Degree and certificate in Remedial Reading and Language Arts at Central Connecticut State University. She taught middle school and high school special education classes before leaving day school to be home with her children beginning in 2001.
Connie's greatest professional joy comes from assisting students in reaching their goal of a high school diploma. Her favorite subject to teach was her biggest struggle in school - mathematics.
